Caricature commissioned by John Banks formerly of the Ruby Lounge, Manchester

My name
is Paul Morgans and I am a freelance commercials director.
A project came up through Saatchis' Malaysia for a communications company
called Celcom.
They wanted me to direct a project involving John Terry and Ryan Giggs. The
idea was very vague and the agency
board consisted of no more than 6 frames for a 60 second commercial.
I talked it over with Paul, regarding scenarios that I wanted to happen, dynamic
framings and a story for the film.
Paul was great with his input, and whilst not being a football fan he understood
what I was looking for and came up
with great ideas as well. His storyboard looked great and was an essential
element in the making of the commercial,
which everyone was delighted with. I can highly recommend Paul, for his enthusiasm,
skillful and beautiful drawings
and his ability to fulfill a brief on time.

I am Design Manager at Manchester City Galleries. I have employed Paul Loudon
on a regular basis in the last year.
He has carried out a number of illustration projects on behalf of the gallery
including illustrations for two family
interactives and for many illustrations for print. He works quickly to brief
and has a variable style which suits our needs.
I have found him very easy to work with and recommend him unequivocally.

Paul Loudon created approximately 90 artworks for me for a series of childrens
reading books. The brief was to create
a set of characters in a naturalistic style to complement a more graphic approach
within the books. We were extremely
happy with the work Paul carried out and how well he hit the marks of the
brief. His approach was considered and
sympathetic to the series style and age-appropriate. His work was well-timed
and amends were carried out promptly.
I would definitely work with Paul again.

I gave Paul a commission to design eighty-four characters for a card game,
"Army Of Zero". There were some
guidelines in terms of general theme and format, but Paul had a fairly free
hand. He submitted the images
electronically as he completed them, and was happy to make changes to "finished"
images when required. As part of
the commission, Paul also designed the card backs and provided a small number
of other images incorporated on the
cards. The work was delivered within budget and close to Paul's initial estimate
for timescales (and within the deadline
required for the project). I was very pleased with the outcome, and the character
design is one of the things for which
the game gets the most favourable comments. We continue to use Paul's characters
on our website, business cards,
flyers and other promotional materials.
